Should I reconsider this idea...?

I am currently considering partaking in egg donation to infertile couples; however, Id like to know the benefits and detriments of it. I am highly for helping out people in need as my mind is set on the idea. I've done some brief research.. Id like to know someones experience firsthand. TIA ;)
