To add the number of column that has dates in excel?

I have made a column in my excel sheet... THe column is 'Shipped Dated' and I have many dates under this column. Now there are few columns that doesnt have a date which means the product isnt shipped. So I need to add up the columns that has date filled in it. Can someone give an idea for this..? I used checkbok as seperate column. but that bit too much coz its not just this i need to use checkbox for then.. i need to use for TT payment received, paypal used so on..
